Privacy Policy

Sakina (“the app”) is a Quran, recitation, prayer-times and Qibla app. Every feature is free, with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases, and it is built to work without collecting anything about you.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. We do not run servers that receive data from the app, and we never sell or share personal data.

Data that stays on your phone

• Location. If you choose “Use my current location”, your phone’s location is used on the device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. It is stored only on your phone and never sent to us. To show the name of your city, the app may ask your phone’s built-in map service (Apple Maps on iOS, Google on Android) to look up your coordinates; that request is handled by Apple or Google under their privacy policies. You can instead choose a city from a list built into the app, and no location data is used at all.
• Your reading and settings. Bookmarks, your last reading position, downloaded recitations and settings are stored only on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them.
• Notifications. Prayer-time notifications and the optional New Muslim path reminder are scheduled locally on your phone. No push-notification service is used.

Internet use

The app connects to the internet only to stream or download Quran recitations from EveryAyah.com, when you choose to play or download them. Like any website, that server may see your IP address when files are requested.

Children

The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date.
